Town Pump

Est. 1873.  Town Pump.  The Tauranga Cordial Factory (1901-1902) | T.H. Hall (1902-1940). A town pump and water trough stood in the roadside in front of this building. In 1874 Mr. Arlfeld produced aerated waters using the spring and in 1876 sold to Charles Clarke who expanded the range to include lemonade and cordials. Their principal market were hotels and deliveries made via wheelbarrow. In 1902 the factory was called Tauranga Cordial Factory, and the following year T.H. Hall. Today the BNZ Bank occupies the site.
